The Society of Snuff Grinders, Blenders and Purveyors

The Society of Snuff Grinders, Blenders and Purveyors (later The Society of British Snuff Blenders) was a British snuff tobacco trade association that was formed in 19631 2 and that closed in 1998.3

Officials of the Society included H. E. A. Albin, affiliated with the Fribourg & Treyer concern, who served variously as Secretary, President, and Treasurer;4 Mark H. F. Chaytor, affiliated with Wilsons & Co. (Sharrow) Ltd., who served as President;5 Reginald T. Harrison, affiliated with Joseph and Henry Wilson Limited, who served as President;6 P. G. Redfern, who served as Secretary;7 Vivian Rose, affiliated with G. Smith and Sons, who served as President;8 J. D. Skelsey, affiliated with Singleton and Cole Ltd., who served as President;5 and Richard Tranter, affiliated with the Frederick Tranter business, who served as Vice-President.5
